Our Philosophy & General Recommendations It is our recommendation that all students take ballet as it is the foundation
of all dance. In addition, students should be enrolled in a technical jazz class
prior to hip hop, lyrical, or modern as it provides the groundwork for these
other disciplines. Students wishing to move into advanced level classes should be taking a minimum
of two ballet classes a week. Pre-Performance & Performance Level Classes
Students in the pre-performance and performance levels will be required to
meet certain criteria and take required classes. Placement in these leveled
classes is determined by our teachers. This leveling system is not intended to create a competitive atmosphere within
the Studio. It is only our goal to provide our serious dancers the training
they need to make it in the professional world. Over the years, we have had
many dancers go on to work professionally, and by increasing our standards,
we hope to continue that tradition. Pre-Performance & Performance Level requirements Performance Level classes are for those students who are eligible to tryout
for competition pieces and/or Jazz Energy Dance Company. Students placed in
Performance Level Classes are required to: Dress Code (Pre-Performance Students)

At Studio 82, we are committed to training our students to meet the demands
of a competitive dance world. Although we realize that many of our students
will not go on to dance professionally, it is still imperative that they get
the basic training that dance requires today.
Studio 82 will be introducing a leveling system for the serious dancer. These
level systems are designed to keep our advanced dancers on track with the national
standards and level of competitive dance. The dance industry is continually
becoming more technically demanding, and therefore, we feel an obligation to
train our students to meet these demands.

The studio will close when the Strongsville City Schools close. This is the
policy followed by most student institutions and seems to work best. We encourage
students to come in and make up for missed classes, as we offer over 60 classes
a week. If there are several snow days in a season, classes will be scheduled
to be made up at the end of the season.
In the event that a dancer cannot make a class due to illness or vacation, the
desk will suggest make up classes available. These make ups may be taken at
any time. THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS.
Parents and family members may view the classes during specific view weeks.
We request, if at all possible, that parents leave younger siblings at home
during viewing. We realize that it is sometimes hard to do, but it does create
a distraction to the classroom setting. This will just help keep distractions
to a minimum. Viewing dates are as follows: Nov. 13-18 & March 5-10
PLEASE give us the first few weeks to evaluate class placement to insure dancers
are in the appropriate class. Remember, just because a dancer can do a step,
does not mean that the step is being executed with proper technique. At STUDIO
82, we pride ourselves on our commitment to placing your child in the appropriate
level class. Our scheduling process begins with teacher evaluations before the
dance year even ends and continues throughout the entire summer. This is not
something we take lightly. Trust that our staff wants your child to get the
most out of his or her experience here and will do what needs to be done to
ensure that your child is in appropriate level class.
Tuition is based on a 10 month school year, which runs from September-June.
Payment is due the by the 15th of each month. If payment is not made by the
15th of the month, a $5.00 late fee will be charged. Because we have had
a very difficult time collecting tuition, absolutely no dancers will be admitted
into class after the 15th until payment is made. Anyone will unforeseen circumstances
should see our desk. PLEASE urge dancers to check in weekly at the desk for
attendance purposes.

One of the most exciting events of our year is the studio’s annual recital.
Held every year, we pride ourselves on creating a Broadway style “show,” not
just a typical dance recital. Participation in the recital is OPTIONAL. We feel
having an annual recital gives our students something to work towards and also
gives our students an opportunity to “show off” what they have learned throughout
the year. This year should prove to be our biggest and best show yet, as we
celebrate our 20 year anniversary! This year’s recital dates are June
15th and 16th, with a Children’s Matinee on the 16th. The show will once again
be held at Strongsville High School.
